But since no two tubes are precisely alike in electrical characteristics it would be wise to re-bias the output stage after replacing the driver tubes with 12SX7s. If you replace the input voltage amplifier tubes with 12SX7s (or any other choice), it is not necessary to re-bias the output stage, because DC voltage at the plates of the input stage is blocked from the driver tubes by coupling capacitors.
