Some of the REL subwoofers have line-level inputs, some don't. I tried both the speaker-level inputs and line-level inputs using an output from my preamp. I definitely liked the speaker-level inputs better--the deep bass was better integrated with the bass from the main speakers. This seemed to make an even bigger difference when using my SET amps and OTL amps.
