Lew, I hope I'm not speaking out of turn here but suggest any attempts at explaining the situation could only be counterproductive and could interfere and be harmful. One slip of the tongue (or keyboard) and things could get very sticky. As for ways to help, that has already been discussed some months ago in the form of the legal defense fund which was set up. Beyond that, expressing opinions to enlighten people to vote with their wallets is practical.
