Antique Electronic Supply in Arizona sells a set of tiny brushes designed specifically for cleaning tube sockets. Dilute pure alcohol, or dilute alcohol with a nonionic detergent like Kodak Photo-Flo, is a reasonable cleaning agent. As Rushton already wrote, Walker SST is definitely NOT a cleaning agent. If you use Walker SST, AFTER cleaning your sockets, you apply it to the tube pins, not to the socket itself.
