According to the RCA tube manual, there IS a difference in max plate voltage between GTs and later GTA and GTB types (or maybe it was only the GTBs that were rated up to 400V or more; someone will tell us). In any case, it does not matter, because what does matter in that specification is "plate voltage", which is defined as the voltage drop from anode to cathode. Even though an MA2 has a +/-400V power supply, the 6SN7s in the input stage do not see anywhere near 400V plate voltage (because most of the 400V of the B+ supply is dropped across the plate resistor, and because two tubes share the remaining voltage in the cascode configuration). So, what I am saying is that you can use ANY 6SN7 in the input stage, GT, GTA, GTB are all OK. For the driver stage it may be a different story, depending upon the age of a given MA2; I think in some versions of MA2 the driver stage tubes could be seeing more than the 250V max plate voltage rating for a GT (and possibly also for a GTA).
