No argument here; the Sans Pareil used a pentode-based output stage, with 6LF6s, if you say so. I wasn't sure whether the Sans Pareil used 6LF6s or EL/PL509s, since I never laid eyes on one. Futterman himself and then Counterpoint, NYAL, and Prodigy eventually settled on the 6LF6 as the output tube of choice for Futterman-type OTLs, but in later years the 6LF6 became scarce and expensive. That's why Transcendent now uses the EL or PL509. However, Brian and I are talking about my brief experience with the Triomphe amplifier, which was a little brother to the Panthere and like the Panthere had a triode output stage. The Triomphe did not use 6C33Cs but instead used 6AS7s, as far as I can remember.
