It's not a silly question, and to answer it, this is a Very Bad Idea.
The DC filament supply in the MP-3 uses simple resistive filtering, and has no other regulation. With all tubes absent from the phono stage, the tubes in the linestage will see more than 7.2V on their heaters.
The 6.3V rating is generally considered a 'do not exceed' but in practice, ~6.5V is OK. 7.3 will certainly damage the tubes, possibly in short order.
