Ask Ralph Karsten. It may not be a good idea to remove the tubes entirely, because that dramatically changes the load on the power supplies. OTOH, it may be no problem. Why not just stick some cheap but quiet tubes in there and not worry about it? By the way, the best solution is to buy yourself a cheap turntable and cartridge and find out what you are missing.
