Converting to OTL

OTL, Output Transformerless Amplifier User Group.

I have a small 6BM8 amp based upon the Eric Barbour schematic on the Svetlana web site. I am running it in triode mode and it is using the small Hammond 125SE trannies. Since I mainly use headphones I have been contemplating the possibility of modifying it to run OTL. My plan was to replace the transformer with a 200mf cap running into a 22K resistor. The cap would be coming off the cathode. I had seen a similar idea in Sound Practices several years ago.
Any thoughts about the likelihood of success? I am not expecting knock-your-socks-off sound but am hoping for an improvement over the present bandwidth challenged trannie.
