It's really important that sections match - at least thats what I find with the 12SX7s that I now use and I assume the same can be said for 6sn7s with the M60s. If buying expensive NOS tubes make sure they are tested to be good, and matched before spending $$$. If they aren't, no matter how exotic and respected the tube, it won't sound good. I'd rather have new matched tubes tested by atmasphere than buying unknowns purchased used on ebay or whatever. But then again I'd just as soon buy NOS 12SX7s, even if not tested, and then test them or have them tested, and cherry pick the best. At $10-$15 a pop a few dud's isn't a big deal.
