Reducing gain on the M60 Mk2.2

I've seen this post before, however, I was not quite clear on the explanation. I have a DUO.
1. Remove V1 & V2 driver tubes.
2. Short pin 2 and 3 plus pin 5 and 6 of V2.
Is this the correct procedure?
How much sensitivity is reduced?
