AJ, hi. Fascinating information regarding Futterman and the quirks and sine qua non of the amplifers & history. Were it possible all of this historical stuff should be gathered up and codified on a web site or in a book. I think Julius was a pragmatist, shopping for parts that he knew would work and were not priced higher than he was willing to pay. I have it on good authority that Julius' hand built Budd box creations always bested NYAL's circuit board adaptations in sonics, much to the chagrin of Harvey R. It must have given him the hives. Somehow I always interpreted this as an example of some kind of cosmic equanimity being worked out by the universe.
