The way TJ changes tube envelopes and bases, etc., it's really hard to keep up. So I need to start by saying that my experience is with early ceramic base ST style Mesh Matrix vs. early globe style 300B 2.5. AFAIK the Mesh Matrix is designed to run at 250V 50mA.Note that the current mesh 2A3 is globe style with a black base. These have come about since we stopped selling the TJs. I found the ST Mesh Matrix to be a lot cleaner, i.e., better damped sounding than the globe 300B 2.5. Can't say if the globe style 2A3 mesh will be as clean sounding as the ST tube, as I have not compared.
