Can Magnequest chokes be repaired?
I have an old (about 10-years old) EXO-99 plate choke (150L/600L). I managed to break off one of the four terminals, including the attached tiny magnet wire. The break is deep enough inside the paper wrap that trying to fish it out will likely make matters worse.
This choke has two coils on one core and frame. The coils can be connected in series (600L) or in parallel (150L). With the terminal gone, one coil is not usable. I could use the working coil (10 mA/150L), but I really like the flexibility afforded by having both coils operative.
Is it even cost effective to repair this, or should I just live with the limitation (or buy a new replacement)?
Thanks for any advice.
