The only reason I mentioned photos was in the thorough experiment to find out what was causing the degradation in sound rather than use the original paintings or pictures that could vibrate, use photos of those original paintings and pictures and tape the photos to the wall. The photos won't vibrate, so if the taped photos degrade the sound one wouldn't be able to conclude that vibration is the cause.
