my big problem is that the pejorative "nanny" word can be used for almost anything done by a government. Safety standards for kid's car seats. Building codes for electrical wiring. Zoning.So suppose all government regulation goes away and people are allowed to sell toys that plug into the wall, but are so poorly designed that they fatally shock children. The free market will fix that, eventually these toys will stop selling, but is the free market really the best choice?
