The Polarity of some CDs revisited

My first impressions of the polarity of some CDs have now changed. My impression of the polarity of the Norah Jones – Come Away With Me CD is now that both her voice and the instruments are in absolute polarity. My impression now of Reference Recordings CDs is that they are in absolute polarity.

Recently I upgraded my CD player and it seems to make it easier for me to discern the polarity of those CDs that I’ve found particularly difficult to call with lower resolution CD players. I feel that Reference Recordings are particularly difficult for me because they have quite a bit more reverberation in the mix than most other CDs and I feel that, for me, reverberation tends to mask a multitude of recording sins and makes it much more difficult for me to discern polarity.

I only call them as I hear them and that means if I change my polarity calls/impressions, I need to update them.
