The impedance curve shows a resonance at around 35Hz which is the fc of the horn and a resonance around 15Hz which is likely the system fb. If that's the case it's not reactance annuled. The upper resonant peak is probably the front chamber. Very unlikely that there's a port feeding the horn at the throat, as once the horn air mass gets large enough, as it does in a sub-horn, it swamps the mass of a port and you can't tune it. You can vent into the horn farther on down, and if he's doing so that would explain the 'tapped' moniker, as in a tapped inductor. If that's what he's trying to patent there's already prior art in a number of places, most notably Novak 1955. If it's a design patent and not a utility patent that's moot. At any rate we'll just have to wait until either Tom decides to show us pictures of it or Augsperger does in the Journal. Or someone buys one and opens it up.
