honestly you are not missing anything with the Fane tweeters - those really had a harsh edgy sound. Not that good at all IMNSHO. I had a set and later sold them. The best I found in that area was the larger Fostex - T925A, T900A, T500A(II). Pricey but much smoother, better built, and just as efficient.
