I had a pair of earlier brown 12TRXB's and one earlier yet with the narrow T35 horn. Both vintages had access to the tweeter capacitor and the tweeter mounting bolt by removing the circular thin metal name and ID plate in the center of the thicker metal rear plate.
I used an Exacto Knife to pry up around the edges and the glue broke free pretty easliy.
In looking at pics on Google Images it looked like the white models also had that plate to be removed but you said you tried that?
The cap may be hidden off to the side but I'd expect you to see the threaded tweeter mounting bolt and nut once that thin plate was removed.
