Someone chided me for mixing reels on my A77. I can't now remember if it was mixing NAB and standard hubs, or metal or plastic, but I am willing to believe what I was told.
I can't quite say I understand the physics well enough, but I'll admit to being far from a reel to reel tape pro, so I needed a metal, NAB hub take up reel or two. It's perfect for that duty, you know? :-)
