RE: JBL D130 reconing

Unfortunately, the original replacement cones are no longer available. The below linked cone supplier seems to be the only ones I have found that provides details about how the approached reproducing the cones as close as possible to the originals. I assume you are re-coning for sound reproduction, rather than sound production as is in a guitar amplifier. I think I would focus on getting a re-cone that is as close as original. Guitar players generally choose their amplifier speakers for a specific sound. The hemp cones may or may not be the best direction for a D130 vs the D130F which was slightly different to handle the abuse guitar amplification puts a speaker through. Before I bought cones from either of these suppliers I would call and pick there brains as to how there cones compare to originals, and if they have actually measured the T/S parameters on their re-cones, and if they can provide that info. You might also post you question at the Lansing Heritage forum site. I have in the past done some research on this subject there, but did not really find any definitive recommendations based on actual measurements of the re-coned speaker. There maybe something new there sense I looked. Good luck! Interested in hearing what you decide to do.
