Further, my old mentor John Meyer (meyersound.com) told me way back in the day, when I was a youngin' and budding audio guy, that a very high quality audio system can be more damaging to our hearing than a lesser quality one, because...A higher quality, more accurate, system will reproduce the instantaneous peaks which our ears don't have time to re-act to and put the biological "limiting" system into action. THAT was a very valuable piece of information.
