Well,my day or two turned out to be a week or two,but I built a Klam 10. I used the drivers and crossover from one of my Adire HE10.1 speakers.Eminence Beta 10cx and I believe the commpression driver is a modified APT-50.
I screwed the box together using pocket joints and duct tape gaskets(no glue),so I can take it apart to make adjustments, like increasing back chamber size, and spacing of the wings.
I've been listening to it for a while now, still not quite sure of what to think. Is sounds good in some respects, but not so good in others.
The response is better than I expected it to be,but there is a large peak between 100-300 hz,which confirmed what I heard. The box vibrates a lot, adding it's own signature to the sound.Maybe some additional bracing would help.
The highs are clear, even without varnish on the inside, and while it doesn't go very deep, the bass has a good punch to it. I was surprised at how well it handled the Illegal Bass CD.
Anyway,I will continue to play around with it,and see what happens.Maybe I will take it outside and inflict it upon the neighbors to see what they think of it.
I finally got a new computer,so hopefully i will be able to post some better pics.
In the meantime, here is a crappy Ipod photo.
