Well, the reason is that when I had the bass horns built, I had no digital crossover in mind at all:-) So originally, the setup was meant for "true" time alignment. On the other hand, crossing over at 260 Hz, straight horns may sound better than folded ones. For instance, I know that Bill Fitzmaurice only recommends to fold horns up to about 250 Hz.
If I were to start all over again, I would probably do several things differently:-)
