Hi:
Does anyone have an opinion of where the JBL 077 / 2405 ranks as a super-tweeter? I tested many tweeters, both vintage and modern, for my two-way OB system and chose the Jensen RP302. I recently heard a large, all-JBL system that used 077s for super-tweeters and was impressed with the high frequencies.
Spec-wise, the 077 is quite a bit more sensitive than the RP302 but doesn't go as low. In my situation, neither matters because I don't need either the higher sensitivity or the lower crossover point. OTOH, the 077 is probably more extended. Do you think it would be worth giving the 077 a shot? The required baffle cutout is about the same for each, so I should be able to just swap it in. Thanks.
