however the total response of the filter includes the inductance of the woofer, and many authors, formulas, standard tables, etc assume that this *8ohm* magic value is composed of some particular resistance and inductance. There is an entire functional variable group of values all of which give the magic *8ohms*.so, thanks this does help me.
I appreciate your response, and given the good data of most manufacturers, the intial xover could be a little better.In general my xovers are not traditional, and based mostly on ear,
however I do have a tendency to start low:I like to crossover the midwoofer below 850hz, and do like 18db xovers a lot if I have the opportunity to build time alignment into the speaker by physical offset.
So, for now in the rainy northwest,
