My old version cones (basically what A Brown Sound is using mow) are great up to 15k. If the new ones (Hemp Acoustics Matrix cones) don't go higher, they at least promise to be smoother. I can't hear a thing past 16-17k, so 15k is fine with me. Plenty of well regarded tweeters can't make it that high, judging by Atkinson's measurements in Stereophile. Numbers certainly don't mean everything. I think they highs sound great. Sure, I've heard dedicated tweeters that sound smoother (to me) in the top octave (of my hearing). However, I haven't heard a multiway speaker that makes me as happy. I've got a set of the old Radio Shack (Fostex) super tweeters waiting for an audition, but I don't feel pushed to hook 'em up.pj
