I love the sub in the blending to my 80Hz midbass
I think I will use some brass 1 inch threaded rods and make short spikes.
I am on a wood floor. I have a MDF over the carpet and paving 1 sq foot tiles that the sub sits on . I tried some 2 1/2 inches diameter washers stacked 12 inch -it seem to crisp up the low frq a little.
After Retsel suggestion I did rigged a large pipe clamp compressing the sides...I need to do more and better solution in that area.
BTW what was your sand box vertical dimension?
