Raising of Seismic Sub from floor Bruce or anyone

I am given to understand that using speaker stands reduces the interaction of the woofer from the floor. I often hear a cleaner tighter low frequency.
In a Seismic Sub is this a benefit ? Or is the Seismic type designed to couple with the floor?
