I'm have L300 clones; stock drivers & xover, but using Edgar round tractrix horns instead of the JBL horn/lens. MUCH less colored than the stock L300.

I have heard K-horns as well. I much prefer the tractrix for uncolored sound in the vocal ranges vs the K-horns. The L300 bass goes quite deep with authority and the cabinet isn't as large (nor requires corners) but isn't as quick/dynamic as the K-horn.

For me, my L300 clone with a good PP DHT amp is my best compromise for what I want. I mostly listen to 'large' works; orchestral, big band, etc.

So, honestly, I would say neither in stock form for a big opera fan. Both would be colored to my ears.
