Use expanding foam insulation to make cabinet inside less like a rectangle the stuff you spray.Round off top and bottom or all corners.Your PVC brace might work good for bracing but wont change the shape like this foam will sound will wrap arround and react with corners etc.I have used threaded rod to brace cabinet this you can tighten to change cabinet tone.Still I perfer the foam.
