I just bought another fostex 127e only to find the speaker was not at fault rather the cd player.Also take out the rear terminals and check the wiring too just in case.
Also, there was a tweak where you ran a short one inch or so wire from the negative connection on the 168 to the metal basket. Check to make sure there are no small wires touching anything behind the driver.
Sorry, that sounds like it sucks to deal with. I bet it's a little thing and will be easy to deal with. Good luck!
