As a long time useer of tact RCS system and tact Millenium amp with a cool software for par eq, lp and hp filter, delay etc all in digital domain I can tell that changing the signal in anyway in digital domain is adding certain kind of "nasties".
Yes, it is doing what it is supposed to do, give you that hp or lp filter you have chosen, changes tonal balance etc but it's also adding something undesireable. Not sure what it is, phase shifts maybe, jitter?
Using the Millenium to drive my Omega DUs. The amp got a sub out which drives via another tact amp my corner loaded subs.
I have no choice but to use some eq and lp filter on the sub out but leave the Milleniums main out to the horns totally unchanged (with except of dely)
I think dsp is adding different kind of nasties compared to analog.
There is no free lunch.regards
Michael
