OK I will admit it! I played/play bass in a group and actually that got me into speaker design by necessity. I was the guy in the group who set up the sound and did most of the carrying of gear. Although an audiophile for many years with full range electrostatic/ribbon etc speakers I was blown away by some altec studio monitors which I picked up for $40 a piece. These equaled the stats and ribbons in accuracy but were very sensitive. That got me into horn speakers and the quest for the ultimate compact high efficiency cabinet so that with just two top cabs and a subwoof you could give a small concert. Presently finishing design of a 112-114Db/watt less than 65 lb, about 2 foot square cab that goes from 80Hz and up!!!!.
