The experiment can be looked at from other perspectives than just crossover type. For instance, in a multi-way speaker which of the following best correlates with listener preference?:1. Linear phase response
2. Smooth on-axis response
3. Smooth power response
Looks to me like the data indicates that smooth power response (even coupled with relatively poor on-axis response) correlates best with listener preference.
