hi kurt,

as reasonable sounding as they can be, this is the kind of situation that keeps me from going the Oris route. i can't deal with the wideband use of the lowthers cause you'll need all kinds of extra things going on to supplement the rest of the freq range.

one thing you could try...use a dedicated 100-1k sort of driver that hovers around 100db. in that horn, you'll bump up efficiency to around 106 or so.

on top, use another tractrix horn to cover 1k on up. you'll have to deal with more drivers and crossover nonsense, but i suspect this may give you a bit more sensitivity and considerably better dispersion.

bass is the thing will kill your sensitivity requirements and budget. the romy route isn't all that bad...a stack of sealed box 10-12" drivers.

that was my thinking with oris stuff until i moved out of my big chicago space into a wee new york one and unfortunately don't have the room to do horns.
