I feel transformers used to level match is probley the best way next to active.This design can yield better image, less harshness, more detail, over fixed resistors or pentometers .The trans I use allows for level ajustment this sure comes in handy helps match loudspeakers to your room,system or listening tastes.Should also keep ohm load more stable.So I would say this is a good thing your getting higher quality for your cash.
