Home High Efficiency Speaker Asylum

Need speakers that can rock with just one watt? You found da place.

Re: Does EMI make a full range driver?

Strictly speaking, you have a wide range driver. In most of the original applications, they were supplemented by tweeters. However, they can go surprisingly high on their own. I have the 93870 AW and it has output up to 14,000 Hz before rapidly rolling off. In my home-brew speaker system, a Telefunken tweeter is inserted at 11,800 Hz via a single cap. The low frequeny extends down to 60 Hz with rapid roll off below that. However there was a bump at 80 Hz and some shelving below 200 Hz. I use an active crossover for a low frequency unit with the crossover point set at 125 Hz.
