Home High Efficiency Speaker Asylum

Need speakers that can rock with just one watt? You found da place.

I Get A Hump with the Goldwood. ;^) Re: Considered the Dayton IB Woofer?

Hi Hitsware,

I sincerely appreciate your reply, and checked out the Goldwood with great interest.

The price is certainly right (I love cheap), but, plugging it into Xlbaffle.xls , the high Qes of 2.69 creates a big peak below 80Hz, peaking at +7dB at 30Hz, down 10dB at 20Hz. I'm concerned that that peak represents a big resonance, with the corresponding resonant sound--just the sort of thing I'm hoping to avoid by going open baffle.

This is all novice conjecture on my part, so all comments appreciated.

Thanks again!

George
