The difference is in the crossover and shade of the paint. The first 'C' production had an orange-brown cone compliance and a small crossover with fixed (non adjustable) HF attenuation. I could refer to the Altec repair parts list and see whether the same or different c/c assemblies are prescribed for reconing. If different, this might signify a change in LF gap height.
