Home High Efficiency Speaker Asylum

Need speakers that can rock with just one watt? You found da place.

Does it have to be one driver?

For a single driver, your choices are:

a 100dB/watt direct radiator driver that has a super-low Qts, and gives little response below 100Hz.

Or something in a horn, that gives 100dB / watt, in your room.

If it doesn't have to be ONE driver, a 2*2 array of relatively cheap, middlingly efficient, middling Qts drivers (as direct radiators) will give you lower bass than a single high Qts jobbie, and a total sensitivity of 100dB ...and it's a doddle to build: just make a box, then multiply by four.
