.... for posting about the Altec Bolero.Found a pair locally for little dinero. Heavy beautiful real rosewood cabinets in good shape. Pulled the bug screens from the horns when I got them home last night. Sitting them up semi-correctly and driven by a battery powered Charlise T-Amp they ROCK with that classic Altec sound.
The Ramones live again. ;-)
BTW, lovers of modern "Neutral" speakers might not be impressed unless the speakers are prpoerly set up. Your loss.
Was wondering if it would be worthwhile to rebuild the crossover with polyprop caps and better than the stock sand cast resistors.
Has anyone got a schematic?
Always wanted Model 19s since I got out of school in the late 70's. Had a pair of 825 cabs with 515Bs/Chapman horns w/Lowther PM2As and TAD2001 tweeters in my house years ago. This is tonally close for an apartment dweller. I dig 'em.
Thanks again, Tom.
