I have A7s and 9844s, I prefer the 9844s. Better bass, better tonal balance and outstanding midrange reproduction from those dual model 414 12's.One of the best Altecs IMO, Hell, one of the best speakers ever. IMO.
Not to mention I wouldn't buy A7s with EV drivers anyway, one wouldn't know what to expect.
