I heartily recommend the entire Lampizator.eu website, starting with the page linked below, which deals specifically with multiple drivers on OB. Many will also be interested in his DIY CD player tube upgrades as well.And, there is also this system which I linked here just the other day (it is just one among many other systems that could be cited):

I personally feel it is ideal if one can go with a smallish, high-grade fullrange and thus avoid the need for a crossover up top. At the very least one should try to go with a broad range unit and get the crossover out of the range where the ear is most sensitive.
But there is nothing wrong with trying it with any drivers you have on hand!
