which one stuffs, glues, hangs etc. inside a loudspeaker enclosure
technically could be considered/called a "standing wave absorber".
Nothing particularly tech-sexy about it though, or in the least bit
unique.Sometimes the marketeers get hold of some mundane element
of a loudspeaker, and then give it an important sounding technical
name in order to exaggerate it's technical significance in order
to wow tech-happy potential buyers into thinking they are really
getting something special. Cerwin Vega is generally considered to
be a manufacturer of fairly conventional (often mediocre) mid-fi
units --not that high-end manufacturers don't use the same type
of euphemistim and hyperbole too. About everyone, it seems,
bullshits about their boxes to some degree.-T.M.
