There are many sacd players of the third generation already out, such as the Lindemann, Combac, and Luxman, but only the Lindemann is available here at this time. I do not consider even the latest Accuphase of the third generation, given that it is not better than the Marantz SA-1. At least one of the Linns will be out in Jan., but the Audio Aero I am told, given their recent experience, is to be held until 2003. FIM is going to import the Luxman, but it will be a Japanese 100 v. unit. Combac is available in Japan, but I do not think there is a U.S. importer. I have not heard any of these units but reports have been very favorable. Only one of the Linns will be less expensive.A review from Germany will say the Lindemann sacd player playing cds outperforms the Linn CD12, which is saying something!
