One can buy something and never use half what they paid for.
My experience is what you hear most with a DAC is the "A" part - the analog output stage and in my case, its separate power supplies. One used for the digital side and one for the analog section sourced by an R core transformer. No electrolytic caps in the signal path.
While all streamers ARE computers, I likewise prefer not to use a general purpose PC for that purpose. The media server housing the audio and video libraries feeds half a dozen endpoints around the house and garage via WiFi or Ethernet using a medical isolator.
I'm currently traveling for a large family gathering, but enjoy listening to music on a daily basis. :)
