IMHO, properly functioning network streamers are for the most part on equal ground mainly differentiated by their software and user interface. I'm not talking about music servers or streamers with built-in DACs, but purely basic network streamers. You can DIY a superb streamer for $100 or you can spend thousands for one that is audiophile approved with LOTS of great marketing behind it. What specs are you looking for?
If I were looking to purchase a network streamer, I would look at the supported software as a primary criteria. Since I DIY my own, mine all support Roon with the Roon Bridge software. My other commercially purchased streamer also supports Roon. Why? Because it is MY favorite software and user interface.
