Tidal HiFi is at least 16/44, 24/96 and 24/192 for some MQA streams. The first MQA unfold to 24/96 can be done in your software player w/o a MQA DAC. A MQA DAC will do the full unfold to 24/192 and light up a special LED during MQA decode*I also subscribe to Qobuz and they both offer comparable sound quality. Not all Qobuz streams are 'hi-res', some are 16/44 just like Tidal HiFi.
*IMHO MQA is a smoke and mirrors tech solution to a problem that doesn't exist. It offers little if any benefit to the listener but creates a nice revenue stream to the license holder of this proprietary sham. Oh, and owners of MQA DACs get to see their special MQA LED light up proving that it must be sounding better.
Now ask me how I really feel about MQA ! ;-)
